Thanks to Chris Fanning who spoke to me about my writing life, what led to my writing life, my two books (one forthcoming), and thoughts about my next one. Only a half hour long, beginning with Andrew Bird’s, “First Song,” a poem by Galway Kinnell set to Bird’s inimitable whistle, full guitar, and violin.

David Ruekberg lives and teaches near Rochester, NY. He holds an MFA from Warren Wilson, and enjoyed a residency at Jentel Arts. Poems have appeared in Barrow Street, Borderlands, Lake Effect, Mudfish, Slushpile, Yankee, and elsewhere. His first collection of poetry, "Where Is the River Called Pishon?" was published by Kelsay Books in August 2018. "Hour of the Green Light" was published by FutureCycle Press in January, 2021.
